Database Plans
At GrapheneDB, we offer a broad spectrum of plans designed to ensure sufficient resources for various data set sizes and workloads. The best plan to choose for your deployments should be determined by your dataset and data model, query complexity, and performance goals.
All of our plans are hosted on Amazon Web Services dedicated instances.
Plan Name | RAM | DISK | vCPU |
---|---|---|---|
DS1 | 2 GB | 1GB | 1 |
DS2 | 4 GB | 4 GB | 1.2 |
DS3 | 8 GB | 10 GB | 1.5 |
DS4 | 16 GB | 20 GB | 2 |
DS5 | 32 GB | 40 GB | 4 |
DS5-XL | 32 GB | 80 GB | 4 |

Choosing the right database plan
The lower-tier plans (DS1-DS3) offer a cost-effective way to run a Neo4j database without overprovisioning. If you anticipate rapid data growth or increased traffic, the DS6 or DS7 plans give you a solid foundation for larger-scale workloads. With ample RAM and storage, these plans are well-suited for handling larger datasets and more complex queries. For enterprise applications or projects that require high availability and exceptional performance, the DS8 and DS9 plans offer the most resources, ensuring that even the most demanding queries are processed efficiently.
There are also the XL plans, starting from DS5-XL. These plans are designed for users who require more storage capacity without necessarily needing additional RAM or CPU resources. These plans are perfect for databases that are growing in size but don’t require a proportional increase in processing power.
Let’s go thorugh one example of DS5 vs DS5-XL, so that you can get an idea of difference.
DS5 plan
RAM: 32 GB
Disk: 40 GB
vCPU: 4
DS5-XL
RAM: 32 GB
Disk: 80 GB
vCPU: 4
Both plans offer the same amount of RAM and vCPU, meaning the processing power and memory performance will be consistent between them. However, the DS5-XL plan provides double the disk space compared to the standard DS5, which makes it ideal for databases that are expected to store large volumes of data. The XL plans with more disk are the DS5-XL, DS6-XL, DS7-XL and DS8-XL.
Can I scale my deployment?
You can easily scale your deployment using our Change plan feature. Your connection settings and authentication credentials remain the same after plan change operation. You can find more information on changing plans in this article.
Can I customize disk size or CPU?
The current architecture of our system does not permit manual configuration of CPU cores or disk size due to its inherent design, and we’d like to point out that our existing plans are designed to ensure sufficient resources for various data set sizes and workloads. For instance, we offer the XL plans, where you can have double the disk space compared to the standard non XL plan.
However, if you have specific requirements or inquiries regarding RAM and CPU customization, please open a Support Case and provide further details around your requirements, and we will get back to you with options available within our system’s constraints.
Deployment options
GrapheneDB offers the following deployment options:
Deployment | Neo4j Community |
---|---|
Single | Yes |
Placements
Databases should be placed as close to the application as feasible to provide the best performance. GrapheneDB provides hosting in most AWS regions while also providing the possibility to establish a VPC peering to ensure that your database is always deployed inside an AWS VPC. Make sure that you choose the desired AWS region when creating your Environment.
If you don’t find the AWS region in the list, it might be new and we’re probably working on adding it, so please open a Support Case and you will get information on the status.
